Lost a Pet?
Tips on finding your pet:
First Things First: Contact your local animal shelter and animal control agency. Visit and file a descriptive lost report with your and your neighboring towns’ shelters. Post Flyers: Post lost animal flyers on Facebook and Craigslist and at grocery stores, veterinary clinics, traffic intersections and animal shelters. Be sure to include your pet’s name, gender, descriptive characteristics and photo if possible, the date your pet went missing and your contact information.
Check Classifieds/craigslist: Check your regional paper’s Lost and Found and Pets classified ads/Craigslist posts daily.
Advertise w/ local Craigslist and/or Newspapers: Post your pet on area Craigslist sites and contact your local paper’s classified department (the Missoulian, 406-721-6200) to leave a lost advertisement. Local radio stations can also be a good resource.
Canvas: Canvas your neighborhood. Let your neighbors, delivery people and mail carriers know your pet is missing and distribute your pet’s picture and your contact information widely.
Keep Searching: Don’t give up your search. Animals who have been lost for months have been reunited with their owners. Visit or call your community’s animal shelters frequently, replace worn flyers and re-enter lost animal ads.
