Did you know?

The Humane Society of Western Montana is financially independent and relies almost entirely on donations, grants, and fundraising events to support our organization. We are not part of any larger national organization nor do we receive funding from the city, county, or state.

Your donation will go directly toward the care of homeless animals and help us provide a wide range of other services for the community… services like our pet food bank, low-income spay/neuter program, free pet behavior help telephone line, camp for kids, and free adoption program for senior citizens.

It costs about $270 to care for each animal during their stay with us, yet adoption fees average $70 per animal. That cost includes vaccinations, veterinary care, special diets, ongoing medications, as well as “room and board” for weeks or even months. Your donations make it possible for us to provide top-notch care while at the same time keep adoption an affordable option for everyone.

Special Funds

Emily Kantor Medical Fund: Helps pay for medical procedures, diagnostic testing, special prescription diets, and more. We use these funds to provide animals with much needed medical care before adoption.

Nandi Wishcamper Fund: Helps pay for veterinary expenses for pets needing medical care. All pets must be spayed/neutered. This fund was established in memory of Nandi, a German Shorthair Pointer who died suddenly at the age of eight.

Spay/neuter Fund: Helps subsidize the cost of our spay and neuter clincs for low-income families and our TNR (trap-neuter-release) program for feral and free-roaming cats.

If you would like to contribute to either the Emily Kantor Fund, the Nandi Wishcamper Fund or the Spay/Neuter Fund, please indicate so when you donate.
